THE SANYI'S LOT

Having no room of his own, Sanyi instinctively spreads his living space into the outside world, using any thing or situation that comes to hand to amuse himself and mates. Living on the ground floor means that Sanyi is in direct contact with the world outside the fall walls of his family’s cramped home, and it is in the public spaces beyond that he creates a world uniquely his own.

The documentation of the first 9 years of the Fax collective’s happenings was turned into an experimental video installation exhibited across numerous galleries around Hungary. The piece reinterprets the urban space from a child-like point of view. The Sanyi’s lot are only seemingly street kids: they reshape the space according to their own concepts, turning derelict buildings and empty streets into an animated and vivid environment.
